Look back before looking ahead

Note one thing that worked last week and one source of friction. Be specific enough to learn from it: an early start helped, or too many commitments crowded out an important task. Avoid turning the review into a judgment about your whole character.

Look at the calendar you actually have

List fixed commitments, available time and something enjoyable you want to protect. If you read a weekly horoscope, choose a theme that makes you think about this schedule differently. You do not need to add activities just to match the reading.

Choose one priority and one margin

Name the most useful achievable outcome for the week. Then leave a little room for interruptions or rest. Decide when you will check in again. A flexible plan is easier to adapt than a prediction you feel compelled to fulfill.
